Decent work is not a privilege, but a basic right of every human being.
When we talk about human rights, we often think of freedom of speech, the right to vote or the right to privacy. But there is one right that shapes our lives every day, and which is not talked about enough - the right to dignified work.
Labor rights are human rights. The right to a fair wage, to safe working conditions, to vacation and union organization are not luxuries, but basic rights that each of us deserves. When these rights are threatened, human dignity is also threatened.
Neglecting labor rights does not only affect the individual - it creates a society of inequality, insecurity and fear. Workers without protection become vulnerable, and their powerlessness affects the entire community. Because a society in which work is not valued is a society that loses its strength and future.
That is why it is important to defend labor rights together - trade unions, civil society organizations, the media, but also every citizen. Only in this way can we create a community where the rights of workers are as important as economic indicators.
At CDA, we believe that the struggle for labor rights cannot be separated from the struggle for human rights. Because a just society is not possible without dignified work for everyone.
